Mission Viejo Annexes 40 Acres

The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement between the County and the City of Mission Viejo to permit Mission Viejo to annex 40 acres of property in an unincorporated area between Mission Viejo, Lake Forest and Rancho Santa Margarita at the corner of El Toro Road and Glenn Ranch Road, in the vicinity of Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park.   Standard Pacific Homes intends to build a residential housing tract on the property.  A map of the proposed annexation is below:

We recently published a map of Orange County’s Fifth Supervisorial District and noted that Mission Viejo was one of the cities that fell completely within the Fifth District’s boundaries.  Ironically, the 40 acres lie in the Third Supervisorial District, meaning that upon annexation, portions of Mission Viejo will be located in two Supervisorial Districts.

A copy of the annexation agreement is available here (PDF).
