I-5/Ortega Highway Closures for Week of March 24

Next week’s I-5/Ortega Highway closure information, courtesy of Caltrans:

During the week of March 24, crews will continue to close the outside lane in each direction on Ortega Highway (SR-74) between Del Obispo Street and Rancho Viejo Road. This work is necessary to install temporary traffic signals on Ortega Highway at the southbound I-5 on- and off-ramps as well as at the northbound I-5 on- and off-ramps.

Beginning Sunday, March 24, crews will begin vegetation and tree removal along the I-5 freeway and on- and off-ramps. Ramps and lanes on the I-5 freeway will be closed intermittently during the week depending on the location of the vegetation removal. This activity is necessary to accommodate the widened and new on- and off-ramps as well as the new Ortega Highway bridge over the I-5 freeway. Upon project completion, Caltrans will replace the vegetation in the area.
