The Ortega Highway Project is entering its last year of construction, and Caltrans is preparing to shift traffic onto the newly constructed bridge before the end of 2014. Unfortunately, this final stage of construction is going to require some significant road closures that will aggravate driving conditions in and around the Ortega/I-5 interchange.
First, a reminder of a full free way closure tonight:
Full I-5 Freeway Closure
- Northbound I-5 Freeway between Camino Capistrano and Junipero Serra Road
- Full lane closure 11:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 through 6:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6
Second, a reminder that the northbound I-5 off-ramp at Ortega Highway will be closed for two weeks beginning this Monday, September 8.
Third, below are some additional closures scheduled for next week:
Ortega Highway Ramp Closures
- Southbound I-5 off-ramp
- Closed nightly Sun. through Thurs. between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Southbound I-5 on-ramp
- Closed nightly Sun. through Thurs. between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Northbound I-5 off-ramp
- Closed Sun. through Thurs.
- Northbound I-5 on-ramp
- Closed nightly Sun. through Thurs. between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m.
I-5 Freeway & Ortega Highway Lane Reductions
- Northbound I-5 between Camino Capistrano and Junipero Serra Road
- Lane reductions nightly Sun. through Tues. and Thurs. between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Southbound I-5 between Junipero Serra Road and Camino Capistrano
- Lane reductions nightly Sun. through Tues. and Thurs. between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Westbound Ortega Hwy from Rancho Viejo Road to Del Obispo Street
- Lane reductions nightly Sun. through Tues. and Thurs. between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
