San Juan Schedules Two More Public Water Forums

The City of San Juan Capistrano has scheduled two additional public forums regarding proposed water rates.  The water forums are scheduled for May 29th and June 10th, each from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center located at 25925 Camino Del Avion.  Below is the press release from the City with all of the details:


In order to provide information to community members about the current water and sewer rate study, the City will host two more Water Forums focusing on the proposed water and sewer rates to be considered by the City Council and the impact of the proposed rates on water and sewer bills. This Forum offers customers an opportunity to discuss their bills and provide input about the rate study. Additional information will be available about water supply, the drought, along with rebates and techniques to save water.

The Forums will take place on Thursday, May 29th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a second opportunity to attend on June 10th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center, 25925 Camino Del Avion. Two prior Water Forums were held to provide community members with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input about the water and sewer rate study, both Forums were well attended.

Water industry professionals and City staff will be on hand to discuss the proposed water and sewer rates, rate structure and other water issues in a booth and exhibit‐style forum that invites feedback and questions.

• Facts About Your Water – Where do you get your water and how does it get to the City?
• San Juan Capistrano’s Water Supply Strategy – What it means for our future?
• The importance of the Groundwater Recovery Plant – How does the facility help ensure
San Juan Capistrano residents will have a reliable source of water in years to come?
• Water Rates – How does this affect my bill?
• The upcoming 2014 Water & Sewer Rate Public Hearing – Most bills will see a cost reduction.

We hope you will attend these very informative events as well as the Water and Sewer Rate Public Hearing at the City Council meeting scheduled for June 17, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 32400 Paseo Adelanto.
