SONGS Community Engagement Panel Meeting Tonight

There are lots of opportunities to the public to get involved in important civic affairs this week.  If you are concerned about the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, there is a SONGS community engagement panel meeting scheduled for tonight.  Details below:

The San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) will host a public meeting on Tuesday, May 6, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center, 25925 Camino Del Avion, to discuss long term storage and management of used nuclear fuel at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant.  The public is invited to observe. The workshop will be webcast live on www.songscommunity.com.  SCE announced June 7, 2013, that it would retire San Onofre Units 2 and 3, and begin preparations to decommission the facility. SCE has established core principles of safety, stewardship and engagement to guide decommissioning. For more information about SCE, visit www.songscommunity.com.
