What Real Estate Recession? Article Summarizes Extensive South County New Home Development

What real estate recession?  Based on the number of construction trucks rolling around town, that ancient history is out of sight and out of mind!  If you are like us and are interested in all of the development going on in South Orange County currently (and there is a lot!) you may be interested to read the OC Register’s South County supplement, the Capo Valley News, which has a full roundup of all the new and restarted homebuilding projects in our area.  The lengthy article by ace reporter Meghann Cuniff covers everything from Rancho Mission Viejo to Whispering Hills/Rancho San Juan, to The Oaks, to Pacifica San Juan to Marblehead.  It even includes a rare update on the Distrito La Novia project that has virtually disappeared from view since San Juan voters approved it at the ballot box:

Nearly three years after voters approved a plan to build a huge housing, equestrian and retail project east of I-5 at La Novia, the plan still is under review by the San Diego Water Quality Control Board because it involves building on an old, unused landfill.

Egads!  The San Diego Water Quality Control Board strikes again to stall development in Orange County!  The article is here.  Read the whole thing — as of right now, the article is not behind the paywall.
