San Juan Wine and Beer Establishments Move Closer to Reality

Don Juan Ortega doesn’t always drink wine or beer, but…oh who are we kidding?  Yes he does, although he vehemently denies that he is persona non grata at Swallows Inn.  It is no wonder, then, that Don Juan is in such a good mood today.  He has received word that not one but two highly anticipated drinking establishments will be opening imminently in San Juan Capistrano.

First, the Rancho Capistrano Winery has announced a grand opening date for the new winery and tasting room at its renovated, historic adobe: April 26!

From the Winery’s website:

Rancho Capistrano Winery is a family owned micro winery offering our own handcrafted wines from grapes gathered from around the world as well as many right here in California.  Each wine is blended, fermented, oaked, racked, filtered and bottled in our Southern California facilities.  Featuring 30 different wines and varietals, we’re sure to have an offering that’s just right for you.  Enjoy our ever-changing menu of wines and delicious small food plates while relaxing in our 3,000sf garden patio or in our warm and cozy lounge.  We also offer custom labeling for your special occasions and will even help you create, bottle, cork and label your own small wine batches.  Located just 1 block from Mission San Juan Capistrano and next to the San Juan Capistrano Amtrak station we are a must visit location when visiting San Juan Capistrano.

The Rancho Capistrano Winery is going to be an amazing addition to the growing local wine industry in San Juan Capistrano!  That being said, if your taste is for beer, then it is equally exciting news that the BrewHouse, a new craft beer brewery, recently passed an important milestone when it received its own set of approvals:

One more set of approvals is apparently required, but when it opens later this year, the BrewHouse will be located at 31896 Plaza Drive #D3 in San Juan Capistrano, near the intersection of Camino Capistrano and Del Obispo.  The BrewHouse website is available here.

Congratulations, and a toast to the proprietors of both businesses!
