San Juan Hills Senior Named Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley’s 2013 Youth of the Year

Congratulations to Michelle Alexander who has been named the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley’s 2013 Youth of the Year!  According to the announcement:

Michelle has been attending the club for 11 years and is currently a senior at San Juan Hills High School.  Upon graduation Michelle plans to move to the great state of Texas where she will pursue a degree in nursing.  During her 11 years of Club attendance she participated in a myriad of programs but perhaps her favorite was the RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) softball program.  Michelle states  ”RBI taught me about dedication, hard work, and how to be a team player. It all paid off during my final season when the team came together and went 12-2!”  Her time at the Club also provided the opportunity to give back to the community.   She has volunteered at food banks to give food to the homeless.and has also spent time helping out at a senior citizens home.  Her favorite volunteering project has been working with the 3-4 year olds at her church on Sundays.
