Cortese Dog Park Grand Opening on August 17

The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for San Juan Capistrano’s new Cortese Dog Park is scheduled for August 17, 2013.  Details courtesy of the City of San Juan Capistrano:

The Dr. Joe Cortese Dog Park, named after a beloved local veterinarian, is a 2.5-acre site in the City’s Northwest Open Space, located along Camino Capistrano, just north of JSerra Rd, next to Hamilton Oaks Vineyard. The park is a result of the 1990 voter approved Open Space Bond effort.

The dog park welcomes small and large dogs and features picnic tables, benches, and an access ramp for people with disabilities. Enjoy the beautiful mature oak, avocado, and Valencia orange trees that are being preserved as part of this wonderful new park. The area will include drinking fountains for both people and pooches. The ribbon cutting will be at 10:00 a.m. and the event runs until 1 p.m., refreshments will be served as well as treats for the pooches!
