La Pata Gap Closure Update

The Orange County Board of Supervisors is working with stakeholders to resolve easement and access concerns at the project site, in particular with SDG&E and SCE.  Further, a second stakeholder group is working to resolve geographical issues between the Cities of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano, as well as the operators of the Prima Deshecha Landfill, all of whom own property in the project area.  The engineering firm tasked with designing the project is working to address all stakeholder needs while simultaneously reducing the cost of construction.  According to the Board of Supervisors, completion of the final design is expected to occur by this June.  A map of the project site is below.
